Teak wood is known for its natural oils, high density, and exceptional durability. Unlike other woods, it is naturally resistant to water, termites, and decay, making it ideal for long-lasting furniture, doors, and structural use. Its rich grain and golden-brown finish also give it a premium aesthetic.

High-quality teak wood can last 50–100+ years with minimal maintenance. Due to its natural strength and resistance to environmental damage, teak is often considered a lifetime investment for doors, frames, and furniture.

Original teak can be identified by:

  • Natural oily texture
  • Straight and uniform grain patterns
  • Distinct golden to dark brown color
  • High weight and density
  • Slight leather-like smell when freshly cut

At ClickUrTeak, we ensure all wood is sourced directly from sawmills, guaranteeing authenticity.

Teak wood is broadly classified based on its origin and growth conditions. The main types include:

  • Indian Teak (MP / Nagpur Teak)
    • Sourced from Madhya Pradesh forests and traded widely in Nagpur, this is one of the most trusted and widely used teak varieties in India. It offers excellent strength, durability, and value for money, making it ideal for doors, frames, and structural use.

  • Plantation Teak
    • Plantation teak is grown in controlled environments rather than natural forests. While it is more affordable and widely available, it generally has lower density and oil content compared to old-growth teak, making it slightly less durable over the long term.

  • Imported Teak
    • Imported teak is sourced from various countries and is typically used for premium applications. Common types include:
      • African Teak
      • Burmese Teak (Myanmar Teak)
      • South American / Indonesian Teak

Teak wood is categorized based on grain visibility and finish:

  • No Grain (Plain) – Minimal grain, budget-friendly
  • 1 Side Grain – Grain visible on one side
  • 2 Side Grain – Better appearance and balance
  • 3 Side Grain – Premium quality
  • 4 Side Grain (Full Grain) – Highest quality with consistent grain on all sides

Higher grain quality means better aesthetics and higher value.

Nagpur is one of India’s largest teak trading hubs due to its proximity to Madhya Pradesh forests, where high-quality teak is grown. The region has a strong network of sawmills, making it a central supply point for premium teak across India. This ensures better availability, competitive pricing, and consistent quality.

Yes, teak is one of the best choices for doors and frames due to its strength, stability, and resistance to moisture and pests. It does not warp easily and maintains its structure for decades.
